A new special exhibition at the Conservatoire National de Véhicules Historiques

From May 19, 2026, to May 16, 2027, the Conservatoire National de Véhicules Historiques in Diekirch invites you to the major special exhibition “British Sports Cars in Luxembourg” —an exhibition that goes far beyond automotive technology and tells a story of passion, friendship, culture, and shared history.

The exhibition is being organized under the patronage of the British Embassy in Luxembourg and in close collaboration with the British Sports Car Owners Club Luxembourg (BSCOC). It is curated by Jean Hansen—a founding member and secretary of the CNVH, as well as president of the BSCOC—and Nadia Klasen, a historian at the CNVH.

A special section of the exhibition is dedicated to Jean-Marie Schmit, a long-standing and valued member of both clubs, whose enthusiasm for historic vehicles and whose dedication have had a lasting impact on the Luxembourg classic car scene.

For CNVH President Tom Sauber, the British Embassy’s patronage underscores the ongoing cultural cooperation and friendship between Luxembourg and the United Kingdom—a cause that has been particularly close to his heart for years. The exhibition is therefore also intended to serve as a cultural bridge between people, communities, and automotive traditions.

The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the fascinating world of British sports cars. On display are rare and extraordinary vehicles that are rarely seen on the roads today, as well as popular British sports cars that have shaped generations. This is complemented by impressive race cars—including early pre-war supercharged sports cars that were far ahead of their time in terms of technology. Many other iconic British sports cars round out this extraordinary exhibition.

To accompany the exhibition, the CNVH is also unveiling its CNVH Gin for the first time—a spirit created specifically for this special exhibition in collaboration with the Luxembourg-based producer “Dear Gin.” It will be available for tasting at the opening and will subsequently be sold exclusively in the museum shop.

With “British Sports Cars in Luxembourg,” the CNVH continues its mission to present automotive history as a living part of cultural heritage—and to bring people together through a shared passion.
