Summer Research in Automotive History

The CNVH's student program, which has been held annually since 2022, offers a history student the unique opportunity to intensively study a specific topic in automotive history during the summer. This topic is carefully selected not only to highlight interesting aspects of automotive history, but also to promote new perspectives and insights in this area. This may involve researching a significant development in automotive technology, a revolutionary design philosophy, or the social and economic impact of the automobile in various eras.

The results of this summer research are then put into practice. This can take various forms, be it an exhibition in the museum, the production of a book or other printed publications that expand knowledge of automotive history and make it accessible to a wider audience.

"Our goal in the student program is to provide a platform for young people to explore and present the rich history of the automotive industry."

CNVH and Diekirch: promoting historical automotive research

The program is implemented in collaboration with the City of Diekirch, which allows students to draw on a wide range of resources and expertise. Tom Sauber, who leads the student program, ensures that participants receive the support and guidance they need to successfully conduct their research and present their findings effectively.

Depending on the quality and scope of the work carried out, the aim is to exhibit the results in the museum or make them available to the public in a published form. This not only provides the students with a platform to showcase their work, but also helps to raise public awareness and interest in the rich history of the automobile.
