Welcome to the “Equality on Wheels” program

What is it about?

"Equality on Wheels" is a cultural and socio-political program run by the Conservatoire National de Véhicules Historiques (CNVH), which highlights, honors, and communicates the role of women in automotive history and motorsport.

The program is based on the conviction that equality can be communicated credibly and sustainably if it is based on historical facts, concrete life stories, and real role models. Women have made a significant contribution to the development of the automotive world, often under conditions that were much more difficult than today. Their stories are still too little known today.

"Equality on Wheels" uses these historical and contemporary examples to show that women were never an exception in the automotive world, but always part of its development—even if their achievements remained in the background for a long time.

Our mission!

Our mission is to bring equality to life through history and to draw inspiration from it for the present and the future.

Through a permanent exhibition in the museum, supplemented by educational programs, events, and an ambassador program, "Equality on Wheels" pursues the following goals:

  • highlight historical facts about the role of women in the automotive world,
  • question stereotypical perceptions with verifiable examples,
  • encourage young women to consider careers in technical and automotive fields,
  • and promote intergenerational dialogue on equality.

The stories of earlier female pioneers clearly show that if women were able to make their mark under significantly more difficult social conditions, then their experiences are all the more valuable today as a source of guidance and motivation.

Why support or accompany "Equality on Wheels"?

Anchoring equality in history
The program shows that equality is not a modern buzzword, but is based on real, verifiable achievements.

Instead of abstract appeals, the project focuses on specific biographies, objects, and contemporary accounts.

Making role models visible
Luxembourgish women from the past and present are presented as credible role models.

Diversity as a strength Different perspectives have shaped the automotive world—and will continue to do so in the future.

Promoting education and orientation
Young visitors in particular gain new perspectives on technical and industrial careers.

Get involved and think ahead

"Equality on Wheels" sees itself as an open, growing program.
Interested parties, contemporary witnesses, experts, and future ambassadors are invited to get involved and contribute to its further development.

The project offers a platform for connecting history, the present, and the future—objectively, respectfully, and effectively.
