2025 Annual General Meeting: A Look Back at an Eventful Year and Clear Prospects for the Future

The 2025 General Assembly of the Conservatoire National de Véhicules Historiques took place yesterday in a packed hall. The high turnout once again underscored the members’ interest in and connection to the museum.

Following the president’s opening remarks, the focus turned to a review of the past year. Nadia Klasen presented a comprehensive and impressive overview of the activities in 2025, which were marked by a wide range of projects, events, and initiatives.

Among the particular highlights were the participation in the Silverstone Festival, the visit by Minister of Culture Eric Thill to the CNVH, and an extraordinary photo shoot with Grand Duke Henri and the historic Buick at Berg Castle. Another significant moment was the presentation of the publication *Due Voci da Maranello* in December, which further underscored the CNVH’s commitment to culture.

This positive trend is also reflected in visitor numbers: with 6,603 visitors in 2025, the museum once again saw an increase. The goal for the coming years is clearly defined: 8,000 visitors by 2027.

Dr. Stefan Jacobs then presented the CNVH’s financial situation together with “B.A. Fiduciaire.” As in previous years, a high level of investment was deliberately maintained to ensure the museum’s sustainable development.

During the meeting, it was also announced that Georges Carbon will no longer be continuing in his role with the association.

Leadership continuity and a strong team

There will be continuity in the CNVH’s leadership. The current Vice President, Tom Sauber, has agreed to take on the role of President. Not only does he bring the necessary experience to the position, but over the past few years he has also taken on significant responsibilities and launched numerous initiatives that have shaped the museum as it is today.

With him at the helm, the existing, well-established team can continue its work. Dr. Stefan Jacobs was re-elected as treasurer, and Jean Hansen was re-elected as secretary. Both have made significant contributions to the association’s steady growth over the years.

Other members of the committee include Claude Feyereisen, Luc Keipes, Raphael Lemaire, and Raymond Zuang, who round out the team and contribute to the ongoing development of the CNVH.

In accordance with the bylaws, the final assignment of roles within the committee will take place following the meeting.

Continuity, fresh momentum, and a clear direction

In his speech, the future president emphasized that the CNVH will continue to operate at a high level of activity. At the same time, the organization intends to draw lessons from the experiences of recent years.

For members, this means that no fundamental changes are expected in the way the organization operates. We will continue to follow our proven approach, while further developing specific areas of focus in a targeted manner.

In the future, there will be a greater focus on public relations. In this context, the new committee member, Claude Feyereisen, was also introduced. As a former journalist, he brings valuable expertise in marketing and communications and will provide targeted support to the CNVH.

In this context, Tom Sauber also highlighted the overall direction for the coming years:

“It is very important to me to further strengthen and actively nurture our connection with the foundation of our association—our members. The CNVH should not merely be a museum, but also a place where our members can come together, exchange ideas, and get involved. At the same time, we will continue to consistently maintain and expand the institutional and cultural relationships we have built over the past few years.”

Greater visibility and stronger member engagement

A key focus for the future is increasing our presence in the classic car community. We plan to achieve this by carefully selecting events at which the CNVH will regularly participate in the future—with active involvement from our members.

At the same time, the museum is to be further established as a place for people to gather. The goal is to make the CNVH even more available to members as a kind of clubhouse. The first steps will be taken in the coming weeks to make the venue more appealing by summer.

Priorities for 2026: Three Strategic Focus Areas

For 2026, the CNVH has focused its activities on three key pillars:

1. Exhibition

Organizing the exhibition “British Sports Cars in Luxembourg, which will open in May 2026 and run for twelve months in Diekirch, is one of our top priorities.

2. Completion of ongoing projects

Following the completion of Égalité sur Roues in March 2026, several other major projects are nearing completion:

  • the staging surrounding the Grand Ducal Buick
  • the production for the Grand Prix de Luxembourg
  • the completion of the book *Wagner-Meris*, written by Nadia Klasen

3. Further Development of the Museum

The ongoing modernization of the CNVH remains a key priority, particularly through:

  • the ongoing digitalization
  • promoting multilingualism (5 languages)

Other structural priorities include:

  • compliance with the obligations under the Convention with the Ministry of Culture
  • the start of the inventory of archives and collections to clear existing backlogs

This work is scheduled to begin as soon as the exhibition opens in May.

Recognition and a social gathering to wrap things up

At the conclusion of the meeting, Nadia Klasen was presented with a gift in recognition of her consistent and dedicated work—a token of appreciation from the committee and the members.

In addition, Tom Sauber took the opportunity to thank several dedicated club members and friends of the organization who regularly contribute their time and actively participate in club activities. He emphasized that this commitment is a cornerstone of the CNVH’s work and that greater recognition should be given to these contributions in the future.

Afterward, the committee invited everyone to enjoy a glass of wine and some light refreshments. In a pleasant atmosphere, members had the opportunity to chat and strengthen the sense of community within the association.

The 2025 General Assembly was thus characterized by continuity, active development, and a clear strategic direction for the coming years.
