Due voci da Maranello - Storie dietro le quinte

Chrëschtpatt 2025

Presentation of the books by Luca Picco & Franco Cimatti

With "Due voci da Maranello – Storie dietro le quinte," the Conservatoire National de Véhicules Historiques enjoyed an extraordinary evening that impressively combined automotive history, personal eyewitness accounts, and intercultural exchange. Around 120 visitors filled the museum and made this evening a special moment of shared experience.

The focus was on Franco Cimatti, former Director of Vehicle Concepts and Pre-Development at Ferrari, and Luca Picco, engineer and author of the Reparto Esperienze book series. In personal accounts, they provided exclusive insights into their work at Ferrari, behind-the-scenes development processes, and the creation of legendary models such as the Ferrari F40. The presentation of Reparto Esperienze Vol. 2 marked the first international launch of the work.

The evening began with a minute's silence in memory of Albert Seyler, the long-standing president of the Ferrari Club Luxembourg, who passed away two months ago. In the presence of his widow, Mrs. Seyler, and his son, Antoine Seyler, his commitment was remembered in a dignified manner. On behalf of the family, Antoine Seyler presented the two engineers with historic Ferrari photographs and the CNVH with a framed Ferrari Formula 1 steering wheel.

Afterwards, Franco Cimatti and Luca Picco were available to meet the audience in person and sign the books they had sold. All proceeds from the book sales will go to a good cause.

The event was organized in collaboration with ACL Classic and the Association des Entrepreneurs et Dirigeants Italo-Luxembourgeois (AEDIL) and highlighted the importance of intercultural cooperation.

Special thanks go to Patrick Picco, whose personal commitment, contacts, and initiative played a key role in making this evening possible. Without his efforts, the event would not have been feasible in this form.

During the evening, Luca Picco emphasized that the passion with which those responsible work at the CNVH is palpable, and that it was a special honor for him to present his book internationally for the first time in this historic setting.

Nadia Klasen, Delegate for the day-to-day management of the CNVH, explained:

"Events like this evening bring automotive history to life. Personal accounts give the audience direct access to historical contexts and complement our exhibitions perfectly."

Tom Sauber, Vice President of the CNVH, also emphasized the strategic orientation:

"Intercultural exchange is a central concern of the CNVH. With discussion evenings, eyewitness accounts, and international guests, we deliberately create alternatives to our static exhibitions and appeal to new target groups."

The "Due voci da Maranello" evening impressively demonstrated the potential that such encounters offer. Further events in a similar vein are already being planned and are intended to continue positioning the CNVH as a place of dialogue, remembrance, and vibrant automotive culture.
